Adam's Apple Tree Nursery
at Sherman Valley Farm
Adam's Apple Tree Nursery began when I moved back to Spokane. My dad, John, was skeptical about the idea of starting a nursery when I first mentioned it to him in 2020. But eventually, after I made it clear that I would do all the work, he let me till up some old blackberry bushes and plant 100 clonal rootstocks. A few years later, I had young grafted trees approaching 6 feet tall. Only then, after selling each one, was my dad finally convinced that the nursery biz was pretty exciting. The following spring, he tilled up the rest of the blackberry bushes for me so we could plant more trees. He even installed a huge and elaborate irrigation system! Sadly, dad passed away in 2025 following a tragic motorcycle accident.

About me:
I have always loved growing plants. When I was young, giant vegetables especially piqued my interest and before I graduated high school, I had grown several pumpkins over 1,000 pounds and won numerous awards. In college I studied plant science, gaining valuable experience growing mustard, spring bedding plants, and cayenne chili peppers to support my master's thesis. After I graduated, I served Tennessee as the area nursery extension specialist. Unsatisfied with my life in Tennessee and far away from my family, I moved to Fort Worth, Texas for a few years to study art, then moved back to Spokane, WA.
